Vusa Mkhaya to Receive Honorary Recognition at Zimbabwe Achievers Awards Global Awards 2026 Jul 21, 2026 Internationally acclaimed Zimbabwean musician, songwriter, music producer and cultural activist Vusa Mkhaya will be honoured at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) Global Awards 2026, having been named among this year's distinguished Honoraries. The prestigious recognition celebrates Mkhaya's exceptional contribution to music, arts and cultural preservation, as well as his unwavering commitment to promoting Zimbabwean heritage on the global stage. The honour will be conferred during the ZAA Global Awards ceremony on 8 August 2026 in Harare. Born and raised in Tshabalala Township, Bulawayo, Mkhaya has built an illustrious international career spanning more than three decades. As a founding member of the celebrated vocal trio Insingizi and through his acclaimed solo work, he has become one of Zimbabwe's most influential cultural ambassadors. His music has taken him to more than 250 cities across over 50 countries, captivating audiences with authentic African storytelling and rich vocal traditions. His acclaimed catalogue includes The Spirit of Ubuntu, Vocalism, UManyanyatha, Songs From The Soul of Zimbabwe and Khanyisa, while his contribution to the Oscar-nominated short film Watu Wote further cemented his international reputation. The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards recognise outstanding Zimbabweans whose work continues to inspire excellence and positively shape communities both at home and across the diaspora.
